An economic zone is a territory claimed by the Principality which has been deemed unsuitable for large scale settlement or habitation, and is instead primarily used as a location of economic activity, either in the form of resource extraction or facilitating trade or commerce. An example of such an economic zone would be any oceanic waters claimed by the Pillow Fortress, assuming seasteading has been deemed impractical. Economic zones are classified as a subtype of colony, since it is not necessarily a permanent state of affairs. Changing circumstances may allow them to be integrated into the Principality as one or another kind of administrative division.
