Foundation
I. The Principality of the Pillow Fortress is hereby established by First Princess Julia Platz-Halter as a sovereign state, independent of any other country, federation, alliance, or international organization.
II. As the state’s founder, the First Princess claims her inalienable and absolute right to rule it, to judge it, to define its character and customs, and to establish its government.
III. The Principality of the Pillow Fortress is, and must forever be, a matriarchal monarchy with a female identified individual as head of state. Her title shall be Princess.
Promises
IV. As the founder of the Principality of the Pillow Fortress, the First Princess makes the following promises to any and all citizens of the state:
- IV.I. That all will be equal under the law regardless of race, ethnicity, origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or religion.
- IV.II. That the state sincerely desires peace and prosperity for its citizens, and that all might have the necessary means to live a life of dignity.
- IV.III. That those state functions vital to life, including but not limited to public transportation, law enforcement, defense, foreign relations, public education, infrastructure development and maintenance, and the acquisition of new territories and the proper stewardship thereof, will never be sold, rented, leased, borrowed out, or gifted to private organizations or individuals, but will forever remain under the control of the state.
- IV.IV. That the fundamental personal freedoms of the individual will be protected, including but not limited to the freedom of bodily autonomy, the freedom of expression, and morphological freedom.
- IV.V. That the exercise of one’s personal freedoms shall not inhibit the personal freedoms of another, and that the ability of individuals to participate freely and openly in society shall not be abrogated by the whims of bigots.
- IV.VI. That citizenship, once granted, will not be revoked except in the case of overt acts of treason against the Princess.
- IV.VII. That the First Princess will create, and all future Princesses will develop and maintain, a government capable of fulfilling all of the promises within this charter.
- IV.VIII. That in addition to providing a free and prosperous society for its citizens and subjects, the Principality of the Pillow Fortress will transcend hitherto existing state forms, and become a eusocial posthuman supraorganism.
- IV.IX. That this charter and all its provisions, including but not limited to those protecting the rights and freedoms of the individual, will remain in effect no matter the form the Principality of the Pillow Fortress may take in the future.
V. Should any government of the Principality fail to properly fulfill the promises within this charter, the First Princess and all future Princesses hereby promise to disband it and form a new government with the aim of eliminating those factors which caused the previous government’s failure.
Social Contract
VI. In gratitude for the creation of the state and in exchange for the continued fulfillment of the First Princess’s promises, all citizens and subjects willingly surrender their right to popular sovereignty and democratic participation in government, and accept only those political roles as may be established by the First Princess and future Princesses for the purposes of creating and maintaining a stable and just government.
VII. Acceptance of the social contract by the individual citizen is assumed unless explicitly and willfully rejected through renunciation of citizenship.
VIII. Rejection of the social contract and renunciation of citizenship may result in the loss of any benefits, rights, freedoms, and protections afforded to citizens of the state.
Law
IX. The State Charter of the Principality of the Pillow Fortress shall be the supreme law of the state. Any and all subsequent constitutions, laws, regulations, decrees, and treaties are subordinate to it and must comply with it. Otherwise they be null and void.
X. The State Charter of the Principality of the Pillow Fortress may only be amended by the First Princess, and only in a manner free from duress or undue influence. Her right and ability to do so is otherwise unlimited and cannot be abrogated or curtailed. Upon her death, abdication, or permanent incapacitation, this document shall be closed to further modification by anyone for any reason.
XI. Any sovereign rights not explicitly mentioned in the State Charter of the Principality of the Pillow Fortress are retained by the First Princess, and upon her death, abdication, or permanent incapacitation, shall be granted to the state and to future Princesses, insofar as doing so would not conflict with this charter.
Proclamation
XII. The State Charter of the Principality of the Pillow Fortress, as amended on 1 Yetton 8 and superseding all previous versions, will come into force upon its signing by the First Princess, and will remain in force forever thereafter.
