The Fortressian Identification Code (FIC) is a system of unique identifiers given to all citizens and subjects of the Principality in order to streamline government record keeping and other bureaucratic work.

Example of a generic Fortressian identification code.

Criteria

All Pillowans receive a FIC upon grant of citizenship, either at time of naturalization or birth in the case that an individual has at least one parent that's a Pillowan. Subjects may receive a FIC if they are long term or permanent residents within the territory of the Principality, or if they are doing business within the Principality. Citizens of client states do not receive a FIC unless they meet the criteria by which either a Pillowan or subject would receive one.

System

A FIC consists of three parts, the version number, the identifier, and the checksum.
