The Far Future Society studies the possible future development of society over the course of millions and perhaps even billions of years. It takes as a starting assumption that the Principality will persist eternally, and makes recommendations for how policies can be implemented in the present which will have a positive impact millennia down the line. As a non-departmental component of the Throne its leadership is chosen by the Princess.
