Portcullose is the first month of the Fortressian calendar.

Etymology

The name Portcullose comes from 'portcullis' a kind of gate located in medieval castles.

New Year's Day

New Year's Day celebrates the start of the new year, taking place on Portcullose 1st. Somewhat unique among Fortressian holidays, it is as yet the only one on a work day rather than on the weekend.

Foundation Day

Foundation Day celebrates the founding of the Principality and the promulgation of the State Charter and Constitution of the Year I, taking place on the 34th. This day was chosen rather than the 1st, the Pillow Fortress's actual founding date, so as to not conflict with New Year's Day.
